The practice receives a large volume of requests for prescriptions every day. In order to safely and efficiently undertake this function Holes Lane Surgery have made a standard policy framework outlining what drugs constitute an acute and urgent prescription.The management of urgent prescriptions will also support patient safety through less surgery interruptions and enabling the GPs to work uninterrupted.
Attached is the list of items that will be deemed as urgent (if the item you require is not listed, please do not expect your medication to be issued urgently. Your request will be submitted as routine and will be ready for collection 48hours later) a code will be added to your clinical record and a letter will be sent
We allow prescriptions to be requested 7 days prior to the due date, please ensure you are requesting your medication in enough time
